Moroccan researcher and critic Saduq Nour El -Din stands in his book “In Critical and Creative Representation” on the influence of the experience of Naguib Mahfouz in modern Moroccan literature outside the literary and cultural context in Egypt, out of being the pioneer of the Arabic novel whose presence in the whole world extended after winning the Nobel Prize for Literature.
The book issued by “Now publishers and distributors” in Jordan came in an introduction, entrance and two parts, the first section “in critical consideration” branched into a group of chapters: “Muhammad Znebar: Naguib Mahfouz and social writing”, “Abdullah Al -Arwi and the fixed position”, and “Muhammad Barrada: betting on the narrative imagination”, and “textual interaction: a thousand and one nights.” As for the second section, it dealt with the topic of “the Egyptian in representation and evocation.”
This division came with the aim of exploring the references of writers and critics from the Maghreb, and its influence on the preserved experience, especially in a stage in which the novelist Naguib Mahfouz dominated the scene of fiction writing, where it is rarely talking about an Arab creator who did not come to know and see the preserved text. Hence, the Arab novelist found himself creative in front of two references: the Western reference represented in the classics of the global novel, and the eastern authority as it was embodied by the preserved experience.
The researcher believes that the experience of Naguib Mahfouz in literary writing has established the traditions of narrative imagination about a deep awareness of the Western creative achievement in all its levels, and that awareness is not limited to this level, but rather it is open to openness from the philosophical references, so that the balance between the literary/philosophical or the novelist/philosophical, which leads to the aesthetic and social vision that is deeply established from the question of the question An attempt to search for answers that literary produce awareness as historical, social and existential conflicts and contradictions.
It indicates that awareness of the novel as a literary race, and the function entrusted to it, led the “Dean of the Arabic Novel” to draw the methodology of narrative creativity that bet on the European pattern of fiction and writing, where Naguib Mahfouz’s experience for the world was an indication not only in the study of the Arabic novel, but in the study of social and intellectual development in Egypt.
The researcher explains that Mahfouz chose the gender of the novel to write in it a realization of it by being the most capable of surrounding and familiarizing the human existence, which was expressed by the fictional practice in the West on the diversity of its forms and contents.
He notes that this choice embodies awareness of the modernity of writing; Those that were established in the West away from traditional and heritage perceptions that see that the art of narrative writing is available in our old literature.
According to the researcher, Naguib Mahfouz in his literary choice, and therefore his awareness of the modernity of narrative writing, breaks the tradition of hegemony that the poem enjoyed, and I realized early that the next time in his accelerating transformations remains in need of the text that accompanies these transformations, understands it and understands its goals and purposes. This literary text in its prose form is nothing but the novel that Mahfouz has been practicing, and he is aware of the difficulty of receiving and accepting in an Arab society that has been listening to the rhythms of the poem.
Saduq Nour El -Din stresses that Naguib Mahfouz’s achievements contributed to the formation of an Arab critical awareness of the transformations of literary writing, and pushed to open up to the developments of Western critical curricula, especially since the requirement requires that critical consciousness be accompanied by all new in writing the novel, and then created in the context of the new narrative time pluralism in reading, interpretation and interpretation.
In this book, the researcher calls for the renewal of critical consideration of the preserved inheritance in its college, especially as it represents the actual foundation of the Arabic novel, which was based on awareness of fictional writing that cannot be overcome or overcome, because he touched many historical, social and philosophical issues about the efficiency, competence and adoption of strong references.
It is worth noting that Saduq Noureddine is a Moroccan critic and novelist, born in the city of Azemmour, in the new province.
