The electronic newspaper Hespress learned that Abdel Samad Qayyouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, has exempted the representative of the ministry in the Tangier Mediterranean port, due to the criticisms of the great delay spent by international transport trucks in the port before leaving, which reaches 7 hours.

The new team took over the task instead of the official who was exempt from his duties, and began processing the outstanding files, amid challenges the ministry faces to satisfy professionals and actors in the international transport sector due to the delay problems that have long been old.
The sources, who contacted Hespress, stressed that the ministry is seeking from this change to reduce the duration of the waiting period of international transport trucks in the Mediterranean port to half an hour, which is the task that awaits the team dispatched from Rabat during the coming days and weeks.
The issue of delay and waiting for long hours of time in the Tangier Mediterranean Port before obtaining the required documents by representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics before leaving, was a source of inconvenience for drivers and employers of international transport trucks, especially the exporters of fast -damaged products.
Video footage obtained by Hespress from sources from inside the port showed the improvement in the traffic of international transport trucks and the absence of overcrowding for many weeks.
In this context, Amer Zghino, President of the Moroccan Road Transport Association through continents (AMTRI), stressed that the improvement in the level of monitoring of documents and bilateral licenses has begun to appear, stressing that there is strong will and instructions to various general managers to solve the problems presented.

Zghino expressed his hope that the dynamic that takes place at the level of efforts to accelerate the surveillance and granting licenses will continue in a short circumstance to cross the trucks towards its various destinations, considering that the professionals are looking for more cooperation with the ministry and the various interferences to improve performance.
