Today, Thursday, Israeli warplanes launched two raids on the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon, near the border with Syria, in a new breach of the ceasefire agreement in effect since November 27, 2024.
Witnesses reported that the Israeli warplanes launched a raid on the heights of the town of “Qawasia” in the Zahle district, located in the mountains of the eastern chain near the Syrian border.
The witnesses added that the Israeli aviation launched another raid on an area near the border with Syria.
In turn, the National Media Agency in Lebanon reported that a series of hostile raids targeted the Groes of Qasaya and Mahala al-Sha`ra-Genta in the eastern series, without additional details.
There was no immediate information about the injuries of the raids, and the Israeli army did not announce its purpose.
On October 8, 2023, skirmishes began across the border between Hezbollah and Israel, which turned into a wide war on September 23, 2024, which left 4115 dead and about 17 thousand wounded, including a large number of children and women, in addition to the displacement of about one million and 400 thousand people.
After the end of the launch ceasefire agreement last October, Israel committed more than a thousand violations of it, leaving 82 dead and at least 279 wounded, according to a census of Anatolia based on Lebanese official statements.
Israel dismissed the completion of its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by February 18, as stipulated in the agreement, as it implemented a partial withdrawal and continues to occupy 5 major Lebanese points.
For decades, Israel has occupied lands in Lebanon, Palestine and Syria, and refuses to withdraw from it and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the 1967 war borders.
