
Real Madrid player Jude Bellingham praised his team’s mindset after defeating his local rival Atletico Madrid on penalties to qualify for the quarter -finals of the UEFA Champions League, on Wednesday.
The coach Carlo Ancelotti team was not at its best, and lost 1-0 after the extra time, to equal 2-2 in the total of the two matches.
But the defending champion once again found a way to qualify, to continue his career towards strengthening his record in the championship and achieving the title for the 16th time.
The English international Bilingham scored one of the four successful penalty shootouts for Real Madrid, to rise to the quarter -finals and set an appointment with Arsenal, the opponent in the Premier League.
“This is what it takes sometimes, those moments of calm and balance. It is not always about that crazy quality that you see from the team. The mentality changes when we enter these matches, and we know that there is a certain way to win it,” Billingham, 21, told TNT.
He added: “We are very adept at that. We understand the circumstances of the matches well, and this match was another example.”
