The Israeli occupation army said today, Wednesday, that 22 combat aircraft participated in the attack on southern Syria, last Monday, and brought down more than 60 shells.
A statement by the Israeli army confirmed that the Air Force fighters launched yesterday (Monday) raids on dozens of targets in southern Syria, including radars and reconnaissance means used to create an air intelligence image, in addition to the headquarters of operations and military sites containing weapons and military equipment belonging to the former Syrian regime.
“22 combat aircraft participated in the attack that shot down more than 60 shells in southern Syria,” the statement added.
The army claimed that the presence of these means in the southern Syria region is a threat to the State of Israel and the activities of the Israeli army, as these sites were targeted to remove future threats.
For its part, the private Hebrew Special Channel said that the Monday’s attack “is the largest launched by the Israeli army in Syria since the wave of attacks that followed the fall of Bashar al -Assad’s regime.”
On Tuesday, the official Syrian News Agency “SANA” quoted its correspondent in the southern city of Daraa, that “the Israeli occupation aircraft targeted the vicinity of the towns of Jabab and Azar, north of Daraa, with several air strikes,” according to what it published on its channel in Telegram, without further details.
Since 1967, Israel has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights, and took advantage of the fall of the Assad regime and declared the collapse of the agreement to clash with Syria for the year 1974, and occupied the Syrian buffer zone, and launched air strikes during which military sites, mechanisms and ammunition of the Syrian army were destroyed.
On December 8, 2024, Syrian factions extended their control over the capital, Damascus, ending 61 years of the rule of the bloody Baath Party and 53 years of the control of the Assad family.
