By the end of March 2025, a first 42 -day first stage ended in a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and Israel, which began on January 19, by Qatar and Egypt and support the United States.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismisses the start of the second stage of the agreement, as he wants to release more Israeli prisoners, without fulfilling the obligations of this stage, especially the end of the extermination war and the withdrawal from Gaza completely.
On Tuesday evening, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation said that “Witkeov has started talks in Doha to push the parties to advance towards understandings about the release of the kidnappers,” referring to the Israeli prisoners.
Hamas adheres to the start of the second stage of the agreement, and the Israeli decision to stop the introduction of humanitarian aid to Gaza since March 8 is considered “cheap blackmail, war crime and a blatant coup against the agreement.”
Tel Aviv estimates the presence of 59 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, 24 of whom are alive, while more than 9,500 Palestinians are in its prisons, who suffer torture, starvation and medical neglect, which killed many of them, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
With an American support, Israel has committed, since October 7, 2023, a group extermination in Gaza, which left more than 160,000 martyrs and wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women, and more than 14 thousand missing.
