The jiu-jitsu teacher Alcenor Alves Soeiro, 57, arrived in Manaus early Saturday morning (30), after being arrested in Santa Catarina, where he was being investigated for sexual abuse against 12 underage athletes. Soeiro was arrested during “Operation Armlock” in Balneário Camboriú, last week, while participating in a competition with children and adolescents.
Investigations indicate that the abuse occurred over 15 years, mainly during trips to championships and at the coach’s residence, where he allegedly drugged the victims.
Soeiro also gave athletes clothing, equipment and tickets for competitions, seeking to strengthen relationships with young people.
It will be heard by the Specialized Police Station for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (DEPCA) next Monday (2). The jiu-jitsu school where he worked reported that he held the position of high performance technical director. After his arrest, the institution declared that it will cooperate with police investigations and that the technician will be removed from the team.
