SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) – The final of the Copa Libertadores will be played this Saturday (30) in Buenos Aires, between Atlético Mineiro and Botafogo fighting for the champion’s cup, in a match at the Monumental Stadium of Núñez, starting at 5 p.m. (Brasília time).
The duel will be broadcast on Globo, open TV, ESPN, closed TV and on the Disney+ and Paramount+ streaming platforms.
Atlético is seeking its second title, after its first victory in 2013. Argentine coach Gabriel Milito’s team came first in the group stage, leaving behind Peñarol-URU, Rosario Central-ARG and Caracas-VEZ. They defeated San Lorenzo-ARG in the round of 16, Fluminense in the quarterfinals and River Plate-ARG in the semifinals.
Botafogo continues fighting for the first cup of the competition. The team led by the Portuguese Artur Jorge came second in its group, behind Junior Barranquilla, and ahead of LDU-EQU and Universitario-PER. In the round of 16 they eliminated Palmeiras, São Paulo and Peñarol.
Júnior Santos, from Botafogo, is the competition’s top scorer, with nine goals, followed by Paulinho, from Atlético, with seven.
