Bayern Munich had to work hard to achieve a 1-1 draw in the classic with Borussia Dortmund, this Saturday, in a match valid for the 12th round of the German Championship. With the result, the Bavarian team reached 30 points, compared to 20 for its rival.
Eintracht Frankfurt, which is still in the round, and Bayer Leverkusen, who won this Saturday, are seven points behind Bayern, which occupies second place.
Bayern started the game better, with good plays by Sané on the right wing. The left foot forced goalkeeper Kobel to make a great save.
The well-armed Dortmund were dangerous on the counterattacks and opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Gittens escaped to the left side of his defensive field. After a sensational start, the number 43 hit Neurer well: 1-0.
To make matters worse for Bayern, Harry Kane suffered an injury and had to be replaced by Thomas Müller in the 33rd minute.
The second half started intensely. Müller did not equalize after three minutes only because Kobel made a great save. Then Gittens almost scored Dortmund’s second.
In the 15th minute, Sané appeared free against Kobel, but the attacker hit with his right foot and missed. The locals’ response was immediate and Neuer forcefully saved a shot from Sabitzer.
In the final part of the match, Bayern pressed, while Dortmund defended and barely attempted to attack. In the 39th minute, Olide crossed to the head of Musiala, who equalized for the visitors.
From then until the end, Bayern continued to attack and almost managed to turn the situation around, while Dortmund only defended themselves in front of their fanatical fans.
