Anatel, for its part, verified whether the items met the quality and safety standards required by the certification and approval program, mandatory for the sale of telecommunications devices in Brazil.
Approval tests analyze, for example, whether products emit radiation within safe limits, avoid interference with Wi-Fi networks, do not pose a risk of electric shock or fire, and do not allow the illegal collection of consumer data. In addition, the devices must have a legal representative in the country, either the manufacturer or the importer, guaranteeing technical assistance and support to the consumer in case of problems.
