Singer is hospitalized to treat gallbladder inflammation
The singer and composer Jorge Aragão, 75, is admitted to a hospital in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, to treat acute cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder. As a result, the show program scheduled for this weekend had to be cancelled.
According to the medical report released by the artist’s advisors, he remains hospitalized this Friday (29) to undergo some tests on site.
“The artist would close the celebrations of National Samba Day, on Sunday (1), with a performance in the Cidade do Samba, in Rio de Janeiro. According to a medical bulletin issued by Dr. Silvio José Martins, from the São Lucas Copacabana Hospital, Aragão, he had acute cholecystitis and is undergoing on-site tests,” the note says.
“The samba singer, together with his team, apologizes to everyone who was looking forward to meeting him. And he hopes to fully recover soon to return to his work routine. “We appreciate the affection, understanding and respect of the press, as well as the general public!” he added.
It should be remembered that, in 2023, the singer was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. Recently, Aragão celebrated the remission of the disease.
