A 2-year-old boy died and his parents are hospitalized after the family ate a Colombian snack called salchipapa, made of sausages and French fries, on the 24th of this month, in La Guajira. The information is from the newspaper El Universal.
The girl, identified by El Universal as Antonella Beleño Guerra, was rescued, but did not survive. In an interview with the Diario del Norte portal, an internal source at the hospital confirmed that the child arrived at the emergency room alive, but died shortly after treatment.
The girl’s parents remain hospitalized. There are indications that the family suffered food poisoning, but only an autopsy can confirm the cause of the child’s death.
