Representatives of the 12 clubs participating in the 2025 Catarinense Championship will meet again this Friday (29) to discuss the dates and competition formula again. A change is not ruled out in relation to what was defined on the 19th of this month, at the headquarters of the Catarinense Football Federation, in Balneário Camboriú. In the Technical Council held ten days ago, the clubs decided on the following format: first phase with 11 matches – all against all in a single round -, the best four qualify for the semi-final, which will be played in one match, and the final in two games.

After reflection, the directors decided to debate the format again. In practice, a new proposal involves returning to the formula almost identical to the previous one: with 11 games in the first phase, the best eight qualify, with quarterfinals and semifinals in a single game (before they were round of 16 ). trip), and a two-game final.
With this, the competition would gain an extra date: the 15th instead of the 14th and therefore the discussion can take place about advancing the start of the championship to January 15.
