The physical cattle market once again faced higher prices this Thursday (21st). According to the consulting firm Safras & Mercado, the highlight of the week is for the state of Goiás, which already reaches negotiations of around R$ 350 per arroba.
In São Paulo, some negotiations above the reference average were also evident. However, in the Northern Region the situation seems to have calmed down, with stable prices and even one or two businesses below the reference average.
“Exports continue to be impressive in the current season. The end of 2024 has been marked by the highest volume in history. What makes the panorama even more interesting is the extensive process of devaluation of the exchange rate, added to the recovery of prices in dollars paid per ton of beef in the international market,” said company analyst Fernando Henrique Iglesias.

Wholesale market
The wholesale market presents firm prices throughout Thursday, and the business environment still suggests rising prices in the short term.
“The meat industry is trying to transfer the increase in beef prices to wholesale meat. Obviously there are limitations; The Brazilian population cannot absorb many adjustments in beef, simply opting for proteins with lower added value, such as chicken meatsausages and eggs,” Iglesias highlighted.
The hind quarter had a price of R$ 26.00 per kilo. The front quarter still has a price of R$ 19.50 per kilo. The tip of the needle remains at the level of R$ 19.00 per kilo.
