The Civil Police arrested a 23-year-old girl for faking her own kidnapping and asking her father for a ransom of 50,000 reais. She sent a video as “proof of life,” but was unmasked after the case was reported to the Anti-Kidnapping Police Station (DAS).
The young woman confessed to being addicted to gambling and contracting a debt of 35,000 reais with a loan shark. With no way out, he faked the crime to pay the amount. She was arrested the same day.
