A police officer and five soldiers are suspected of planning the “Green and Yellow Dagger” plan, whose objective was to kill President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT); the minister of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes; and the vice president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB). The suspects even dispersed to different parts of Brasilia to gain access to the victims.
HE Federal Police (PF) This Tuesday (11/19) search and seizure and arrest warrants were carried out against the suspects. They are:
- Reserve General Mário Fernandes, former executive secretary of the General Secretariat of the Presidency in the government of Jair Bolsonaro and former cabinet advisor to federal deputy Eduardo Pazuello, former Minister of Health under Bolsonaro.
- Lieutenant Colonel Helio Ferreira Lima;
- Major Rodrigo Bezerra Azevedo, also a “black boy”;
- the then major and current lieutenant colonel Rafael Martins de Oliveira;
- Federal police officer Wladimir Matos Soares.
The PF report notes that the suspects used countries as code names and, so far, it has not been possible to decipher which code name was assigned to each person.
The movement that intended to carry out the coup began on December 15, 2022, when “Austria” left Goiânia (GO) towards Brasilia. During the same period, the movement of Rafael Martins’ vehicle was recorded, a movement that coincides with that of the so-called Japan.
Then, the soldier who uses the code name Brazil warns that the group’s “Headquarters” would be located in the place: Parque da Cidade. Gana announced that he was “in position”, which would be the official residence of Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
One of those involved sent a printed copy of an article from Metropolis informing that the session that would vote on the secret budget had been postponed. Then, around 8:59 p.m., the user currently assigned to Rafael Martins sends a message “aborting the mission.” He ordered Austria and Ghana to return, and Ghana to be “rescued” by Japan.
difficulty with the taxi
Ghana begins to walk along the W3 South, when he had difficulty ordering a taxi. At 9:26 p.m., ‘Gana’ said: “’Sanhaço I hope to find a taxi. But I will arrive. Hahahaha.” In response, a man identified by the PF as Rafael de Oliveira asks: “Do you want me to catch you?”
Seven minutes later, ‘Gana’ sends an audio explaining the difficulty:
“Man, I just got a [sic] Taxi stand here, there was a crazy guy, but he said he was going to pick up a passenger and he was going to call me a taxi here, okay? Wait about five minutes to see if it is enough. I think it will be resolved now, but it sucks, man. There aren’t any taxis anywhere at this hour, are there?
At 10:07 p.m., Gana arrives at Shopping Pátio Brasil, where, according to the PF report, Lieutenant Colonel Rafael de Oliveira picks him up.
Explosive or poisoning
The plan contemplated the assassination of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, then president of the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), with the use of explosives or poisoning.
According to the corporation, the coup plotters considered the “collateral damage” of Moraes’ murder “acceptable.” The “collateral damage”, highlights the PF, would include the elimination of the minister’s entire security team and even the death of the soldiers involved in the action. In other words: the coup plotters would be willing to die in the minister’s execution plan.
“[Tudo] It was allowed to fulfill the mission of ‘neutralizing’ the so-called ‘center of gravity’, which would be an obstacle to the consummation of the coup d’état,” describes the PF.
According to the investigation, “the possibility of Moraes’ death is reinforced by the topic called ‘Passable and acceptable collateral damage’, in which the document qualifies ‘100%’ as responsible and the percentage of ‘100%’ is also acceptable.
The investigation found a document that contains, in thematic format, the planning of an operation related to the coup d’état. For example, operational reconnaissance demands and necessary weapons are listed.
The “metadata” indicates that the planning was prepared by retired general Mário Fernandes, when he was still executive secretary of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, during the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
Operation Backlash
Operation Countercoup, launched by the Federal Police this Tuesday (11/19), was authorized by the Minister of the STF, Alexandre de Moraes. The action aims to dismantle a criminal organization that allegedly planned a coup d’état in 2022 to prevent the inauguration of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and attack the STF.
