The Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) located, on the morning of this Friday (15), a suitcase considered suspicious near one of the annexes of the Chamber of Deputies. In a statement, the corporation reported that the Anti-Explosives Team, in the midst of a preventive patrol in the area, activated Operation Petardo, specialized in explosives, to analyze the object.
“After a technical evaluation, it was found that the suitcase did not contain explosives. Then the area was liberated and the situation returned to normal,” the PMDF highlighted in the statement.
Operation Firecracker defines a standard procedure carried out by the corporation for incidents in which the presence of an explosive device is suspected.
On Wednesday (13), the Plaza dos Três Poderes was the target of explosions, in the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and in one of the parking lots of the Chamber of Deputies.
The person responsible for the attacks, identified as Francisco Wanderley Luiz, died at the scene of one of the explosions.
