This sunny Friday morning (15th), which begins the Proclamation of the Republic weekend, made many people choose to enjoy the day at the beach or hit the road to travel. As a result, traffic in Greater Florianópolis was blocked at different points, including the capital’s highways and roads connecting cities in the region.

On BR-101, early in the morning there was a crash between three cars. The accident occurred at kilometer 228.2, in Palhoça, near Morro dos Cavalos. According to Arteris Litoral Sul, the concessionaire that manages the section and which attended to the incident, the accident generated only 1 kilometer of queue.
However, around 11:40 a.m. there was still a slowdown in the area. Arteris states that the congestion would be due to the high flow of vehicles on the stretch, due to the holiday.
Shortly after, two other incidents were recorded at kilometer 222.2 of the BR-101, in Palhoça, towards Porto Alegre. In one of them, a collision between a car and a motorcycle, the victim was transferred to the São José Regional Hospital.

In another accident, a collision between two cars, there were no victims. Around noon, the center and left lanes were closed, with a 6-kilometer queue, according to Arteris. Thus, there is a record of decelerations between kilometers 216 and 222, in Palhoça, and between kilometers 227 and 231, also in Palhoça.
Slowness on BR-282 and on the Island
According to the Municipal Guard, there are also queues at the access to the Sierra Santa Catarina, which start from BR-101, in Palhoça, pass through Contorno Viário and extend along BR-282 to Santo Amaro de Imperatriz.
GMF states that within the city of Florianópolis, traffic is most intense on Avenida da Saudade and SC-401, towards the north of the island, as well as in the center of Lagoa, on Avenida das Rendeiras and on Rua Vereador Osni Nettle.
