Midfielder Arrascaeta underwent surgery on his right knee this Thursday (14th) and will no longer play for Flamengo this season. Number 14, who had been playing “in sacrifice”, begins his recovery aiming for the year 2025 for Rubro-Negro.
“The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo reports that the athlete Arrascaeta underwent an arthroscopy on his right knee, this Thursday (14). The procedure was performed at the CopaStar Hospital by Dr. Max Ramos, accompanied by Dr. Márcio Tannure, head of health and high performance at Flamengo,” the Rio club announced this Thursday (14).
In the current season, Arrascaeta played 43 games for Flamengo, with 10 goals and 10 assists. The midfielder suffered some physical problems during the season, but even so he continued to be one of the most decisive athletes on the team.
The final of the Brazilian Cup, won by Rubro-Negro with two victories over Atlético, were Arrascaeta’s last performances in 2024. The player himself admitted that he played at “sacrifice”, but did not want to be left out of the decisions.
