Soybean planting in Paraná exceeds 90% of the cultivation area
The planting of the 2024/25 soybean crop in Paraná reached 92% of the cultivated area, according to information released this Monday (12) by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Department of Agriculture of Paraná. The previous week the coverage was 85%, which demonstrates an accelerated pace in planting activities.
According Crops and marketIt is estimated that the total area allocated to cereal cultivation in this harvest will reach 5,805 million hectares, slightly higher than the 5,785 million hectares of the previous harvest (2023/24). If confirmed, production for Paraná should total 22,399 million tons, an increase of 21% compared to the last harvest.
Cultivation conditions
Deral highlights that 99% of the crops are in good condition, with only 1% in medium condition, a slight drop compared to the previous week, when all crops were classified as good. The plants are in different stages of development: 8% of the crops are in the germination phase, 72% in vegetative growth and 20% in flowering. Compared to the previous week, there was a reduction in the germination area (16%) and an increase in flowering crops (4%).
Harvest expectations
The expectation of soybean productivity in the 2024/25 harvest is 3,858 kilos per hectare, an increase of around 21% compared to the 2023/24 harvest. This optimism is supported by the good weather conditions recorded so far and the accelerated progress of sowing, which favors the healthy and uniform development of the crops.
