The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released this Sunday morning (3) heavy rain warningwith a severity level classified as “potential hazard” for locations in eight states:
- Rio Grande do Sul,
- saint catarina,
- Paraná,
- Sao Paulo,
- Rio de Janeiro,
- Holy Spirit,
- Minas Gerais and
- Mato Grosso do Sul.
According to Inmet, the forecast is for rain between 20 and 30 millimeters per hour (mm/h), in addition to intense winds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour (km/h) today until 10 a.m. this Monday (4). The institute also reports that the risk of power outages, falling tree branches, flooding and electric shock is low.
The agency’s instructions are that in case of gusts of wind, people should not take shelter under trees or park vehicles near power transmission towers and billboards. You should also avoid using electronic devices plugged into an outlet.
