This Sunday (27), the last major rally of the Republican candidate Donald Trump in New York was marked by aggressive speeches against Latinos and several insults towards the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian invited by the former president to warm up the audience, uttered racist and xenophobic insults, even calling Puerto Rico “floating island of garbage.”
On stage, during his speech, Hinchcliffe said he welcomes immigrants with open arms, although he points out otherwise. He used profanity, prejudiced jokes and an avalanche of stereotypes to offend Latinos, Jews and Palestinians.
The comedian referred to Puerto Rico, a US territory where 3.2 million Americans live, as “a floating garbage island” and said that Latinos “they love making babies”. “There’s a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

Hinchcliffe called stone-throwing Palestinians and Jews mean, and even played a racist joke suggesting that black people are lazy and primitive.
Like Hinchcliffe, other speakers at the Trump rally uttered various racist and misogynistic insults against Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, calling her the antichrist and making comparisons to a prostitute.
Turker Carlson, a far-right host, referred to the candidate as “First low-IQ Samoan-Malaysian former California prosecutor to be elected president”.
During his one hour and twenty minute speech, the Republican candidate once again accused immigrants of being criminals and said he intends to launch the largest deportation program in the United States.
Donald Trump’s campaign justified itself through a statement, signed by advisor Danielle Alvarez, stating that the statements “They do not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
The prejudiced and aggressive speeches also provoked reactions from the public, including Latino celebrities. On his Instagram, Ricky Martin wrote “That’s what they think of us. Vote for @kamalaharris”. Other artists such as Bad Bunny, Jennifer López and Luis Fonsi spoke out on social networks and declared their support for Kamala Harris.
