Sao Paulo — Amanda Zanotti (PT), deputy advisor of the City hall from São Paulo, is accused of failing to comply with more than 100 electoral activists who worked on her campaign. The accumulated debt, as reported by employees to the Metropolisreaches approximately R$ 170 thousand.
According to data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE)amanda (featured photo) received R$ 450 thousand to invest in the campaign. Of that total, 99.39% was donated by the national leadership of the PT.
Even according to the TSE, the substitute’s campaign had expenses of R$ 287,400. The difference, in this case R$ 162,600, is usually returned to the match. The transfer, however, is not yet in the judicial system.
Friends and family paid without working
According to reports of employees who defaulted on payment MetropolisRelatives and friends of the general coordinator of the PT campaign, Ademir Mota da Silva, and the financial coordinator, Higor Geraldo Maranhao de Mattos, received cash transfers, but did not work on the campaign.
In the TSE data portal it is possible to see a transfer worth R$ 8,000 to Ademir and another worth R$ 6,000 to Higor. Pollsters who were not paid identified at least 11 people from the duo’s personal circle who are on the campaign payroll but who would not have worked.
Amanda even told some of her collaborators that Ademir hit her. The substitute, however, never presented any evidence or sign of disagreement between the two.
The PT, in fact, would be helping Ademir in the sale of a property on the Ilha Comprida beach, on the coast of São Paulo. The negotiation would be carried out to pay the amounts owed, according to traces of conversations between Ademir and Amanda and audios sent by the substitute to a service provider – which was also not paid.
Listen to some of the audios that Metropolis had access:
The house, according to reports from campaign workers, belonged to Ademir’s mother and was advertised on the Internet.
HE Metropolis He had access to the WhatsApp group where 80 people demand the amounts owed from Amanda’s campaign. The deputy, the general coordinator of the campaign and the treasurer – all identified as responsible for the debt – are not among the members.
The owner of an agency, who prefers not to be identified, is one of the people with the largest amount to receive from the campaign. According to him, Amanda owes him around R$ 40,000 for communication and marketing strategy services.
From campaign collaborators who spoke with him MetropolisHe is the only one who had a contract drawn up to provide services. However, this did not guarantee that payments would be made within the agreed time frame.
The rest of the services were all agreed upon verbally, with registrations only via WhatsApp. Most of the people who have money to spare worked on leaflet distribution and voter registration. Amanda and Ademir also reportedly offered workers an additional amount for exit voting work, which is considered an electoral crime.
Victims of the campaign
Cleaning assistant Anarosa Xavier de Brito, 50, is one of these people. He says he worked for Amanda’s campaign from September 6 to October 6, the date of the election. For this work, he was supposed to receive R$ 1,300, but he says he did not receive a single cent.
“Sometimes I hope [de receber o dinheiro]Sometimes we feel discouraged, sometimes we have that anxiety afterwards, right? “I ask God to take that out of my head,” he said.
Other campaign contributors described the same routine and feeling. Maísa Silva do Nascimento, 33 years old, is a microentrepreneur and hopes to receive the agreed amount to invest in her store. Without getting paid, he says he doesn’t even know how to pay his rent. “My psychology is very affected by this. I heard it in several reports, it really affected me,” he said.
Several of the injured workers filed complaints with the police, accusing Amanda, Ademir and Higor of embezzlement. In addition, the group prepared a petition, with more than 100 signatures, and presented a common report sent to the PT.
According to Celton Lázaro Antunes, 38 years old, who was campaign coordinator in the eastern zone and earns R$ 10,000, party representatives said that the PT had no responsibility for the event, “because the electoral fund was deposited in its account and “The candidate who manipulates, is the one who makes the distribution and she is the one who takes care of the value.”
HE Metropolis I contacted PT, Amanda, Ademir and Higor. Only Ademir responded until the publication of this text. He did not respond to accusations of payments made to family members and reported that “there is an office that handles campaign accounts,” but did not provide contact information or provide further information. The space remains open for demonstrations.
