The Saudi Electricity Company began implementing procedures related to not documenting electricity meters, after the deadline for subscribers has expired to complete the documentation.
The procedures include stopping some additional services gradually to the service separation, while continuing to notify subscribers who are not documented on the importance of updating their data to ensure that all the company’s services are used without any future obstacles.
The company emphasized that documenting the meter aims to link the service to the actual beneficiary, whether it is an owner or tenant; Which enhances data accuracy, and ensures more flexible and transparent electrical services.
The procedure also contributes to improving the subscriber’s experience, by enabling him to manage his account easily, follow up on his consumption, and receive updates for other bills and services directly.
The company indicated that the actual beneficiary is the person who uses the electrical service directly, and the main categories include the owner who lives in the property himself, the non -beneficiary owner who rents the property for other tenants, and the tenant who lives in the property and uses electricity directly.
She emphasized that this documentation contributes to ensuring the rights of all parties, and limits any ambiguity related to financial bills or responsibilities between owners and tenants.
The company called on the subscribers who did not complete the documentation process to accelerate the update of their data through the available channels, explaining that the documentation process is available through the application of electricity and the website, as well as the possibility of visiting subscriber services offices, or communicating with the customer service center.
To facilitate knowing the condition of the meter, the company explained that the subscribers can verify the account number, as the number that begins with 100 indicates that the meter is not documented and requires the completion of the procedures, while the number that begins with 300 means that the meter is documented and does not need any update.
The company stressed that documentation not only aims to update the subscribers’ data, but also contributes to protecting consumer rights, reducing potential disputes over bills, as well as providing custom services commensurate with the needs of actual beneficiaries.
