On Sunday, the Syrian Ministry of Defense accused the Lebanese “Hezbollah”, backed by Iran, of kidnapping three Syrian soldiers to Lebanon and killing them there, according to the official Syrian media.
The SANA news agency quoted the media office of the Ministry of Defense as saying that “a group of Hezbollah militia, through an ambush, kidnapped three members of the Syrian Arab Army on the Lebanese border (…) before they took them to Lebanese territory and liquidated them.”
“The Ministry of Defense will take all necessary measures after this dangerous escalation by Hezbollah militia,” she added, noting that the incident took place near the Zeta Dam, west of Homs.
For his part, Hezbollah denied in a statement “categorically what is being circulated regarding the existence of any relationship with Hezbollah with the events that took place today on the Lebanese -Syrian border.”
