Two elements of the regime’s remnants were killed last night and another was arrested during an attack by an armed group belonging to it, and the attack targeted a public security patrol near the cultural center in the city of Banias in the countryside of Tartous Governorate, western Syria. Field sources in the city of Jableh confirmed to “Al -Arabi Al -Jadeed” that a group of regime’s remnants launched a separate attack targeting a public security checkpoint in the industry neighborhood inside the city.
The sources stated that the shooting coincided with a state of panic among the people, especially since it came after a calm period that followed the bloody events in the Syrian coast between 6 and 10 March.
9 Israeli incursions in southern Syria
In another context, the Israeli occupation army released three sheep shepherds who had been arrested for hours in the village of Sidon in the southern Quneitra countryside, according to what was monitored “Al -Arabi Al -Jadeed” late Friday evening. And the Syrian Network for Human Rights documented the implementation of the Israeli forces 9 wildpoints in the Quneitra Governorate between 5 and 14 March 2025, without prior declaration, which raised the concern of the population, according to a report issued on Friday.
The incursions included arrests, the establishment of barriers, and forced questionnaires for the people, in addition to the bombing of military equipment in abandoned locations. No direct confrontations were recorded, but the report considered these operations a violation of Syrian sovereignty and a violation of international law. The network called on the United Nations and the international community to urgently intervene to prevent these violations and protect civilians.
The spread of the security forces in Damascus
In the capital, Damascus, dozens of public security elements spread in the Umayyad Square with the aim of controlling security during the celebrations prescribed today on the occasion of the anniversary of the launch of the Syrian revolution on March 15. Pictures that spread on social media showed that the people came to the Umayyad Square in Damascus to participate in the celebrations.
