The American envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittouf, revealed the details of the Doha talks, which ended with the announcement of Hamas approval of the resumption of negotiations and the release of hostages of dual nationalities. In a statement, Wittouf said that the proposed extension allows time to negotiate a framework for a permanent ceasefire. The American official called for the necessity of implementing the proposal to “narrow the gaps” soon, with the release of the American -Israeli hostage, Aidan Alexander, immediately.
The American envoy considered that Hamas has made in special hadiths “completely impractical” demands other than a permanent ceasefire, pointing out that the movement is aware of the deadline, and America will respond accordingly if the date has passed.
The Hamas movement announced that it had responded to a proposal it received from the brokers to resume the ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip. She said in a statement that she received, on Thursday, a proposal from the brokers to resume negotiations, and announced that she had dealt with him positively and that she had surrendered to him at dawn today.
She explained that her response included the approval of the release of an Israeli-American soldier who was detained, in addition to the bodies of four dual citizenships, as part of the cessation of the shooting between the two parties.
For his part, Netanyahu’s office announced that the Israeli Prime Minister will hold security consultations on Hamas’s response. He later said in a statement, while Israel has accepted a framework and a Witakouf, Hamas insists on its refusal and continues to launch a psychological war against the families of the prisoners.
He added that the Prime Minister will meet the ministerial team tomorrow evening (Saturday) to listen to a detailed briefing from the negotiating team, and to determine the steps necessary to liberate the prisoners and achieve all the goals of our war.
While Hamas insists that any agreement must include an obligation to end the war and the withdrawal of the Israeli army completely from the Gaza Strip, which Israel rejects, Tel Aviv wants an agreement that restores the hostages and does not include any commitment to stop the war on the devastating Gaza Strip.
