
The number of UAE bank employees exceeded a barrier of 39 thousand for the first time since 2015, according to statistical bulletins data available on the central site, as the number, according to the statistical bulletin issued by the Central Bank today, reached 39 thousand and 46 employees at the end of last year 2024.
The sector witnessed the entry of 878 new employees during 2024, as the number of employees increased 2.3%, compared to 38168 employees at the end of 2023. According to the Emirates News Agency, 32590 employees work for national banks, and 6456 employees with foreign banks operating in the country, as at the end of December 2024.
The balance of the United Arab Emirates Central Bank of Gold increased 26.63% during the past year to 22.981 billion dirhams at the end of December 2024 compared to 18.147 billion dirhams at the end of 2023.
According to the statistical bulletin issued by the Central Bank today, the value of demand deposits grew to exceed 1.109 trillion dirhams at the end of 2024, of which 822.42 billion dirhams in the local currency.
The value of savings deposits amounted to 317.486 billion dirhams at the end of 2024 of which is about 265 billion dirhams in the local currency, and the value of the deposits for 945.75 billion dirhams reached about 553.4 in the local currency. The statistical bulletin showed the rise in net international reserves for the Emirati banking sector to exceed 1.446 trillion dirhams at the end of 2024 compared to 1,145 trillion dirhams at the end of 2023.
