
The third anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on March 15th is an international day to combat the hatred of Islam, in response to the proposal of a resolution submitted by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in an official capacity to the United Nations on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Accordingly, the proposal was issued, Resolution No. 76/254 adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at its seventy -sixth session on March 15, 2022, and it was officially announced on the “International Day to Combat Hathered Islam”.
In the preamble of this decision, the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights were referred to as a call to promote and protect all human rights and basic freedoms for all. The previous relevant decisions related to combating intolerance, negative steadfastness, stigmatization, discrimination, incitement to violence and its practice against people were also reminded because of their religion or belief.
The United Nations General Assembly, in the preamble of this decision, stressed that freedom of expression, belief, freedom of opinion, expression, the right to peaceful assembly and the right to freedom are freedoms, interconnected and intertwined rights that enhance each other.
She expressed concern about the increase recorded in discrimination, intolerance and violence against members of many religious sects; Including cases that occur out of hatred of Islam, anti -Semitism, and prejudice to followers of religions or other beliefs.
She reaffirmed that terrorism and violent extremism leading to terrorism cannot and should not be linked to any religion, nationality, civilization, or ethnic group.
The UN resolution called for intensifying international efforts to encourage the establishment of a global dialogue on promoting a culture of tolerance and peace at all levels, based on respect for human rights and the diversity of religions and beliefs. He also asked all member states and institutions concerned in the United Nations system, international and regional organizations, civil society, the private sector and religious organizations to celebrate the international day in the appropriate way.
The UN resolution was widely welcomed by political figures, religious leaders, researchers, and experts specializing in international relations from the Islamic world and from it. It also noted a number of governmental and non -governmental organizations and civil society institutions concerned with dialogue, tolerance, harmony between peoples and coexistence between the followers of religions.
In this context, the Islamic World League welcomed this decision, as its Secretary -General, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al -Issa, Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Authority, praised the efforts of Islamic diplomacy and its partners from states and religious religious organizations, and stressed that the UN decision establishes an important stage in the face of the discourse of hatred, racism, intolerance and extremism, and contributes in a constructive and influential way to supporting dialogue initiatives between followers of religions and cultures, in a way that benefits more security and stability And prosperity for all human societies.
On the other hand, it is important to note that the Document of Makkah Al -Mukarramah has devoted a clause to the issue of hatred of Islam, as it was considered “Islamophobia” the result of not knowing the truth of Islam, its civilized creativity, its lofty goals, and the true identification of Islam calls for the objective vision that gets rid of pre -ideas for his understanding of its origins and principles, not by clinging to homosexuals committed by the impersonators of his name They falsely attribute it to his laws.
In Morocco, the Arab European Forum for Combating Hate was established in the city of Casablanca on May 10, 2024.
The forum seeks to spread awareness of the danger of hatred through monitoring, research, diagnosis, training and rehabilitation. It also aims to introduce international laws, covenants and advertisements related to caution of incitement to national, racist and religious hatred.
In this context, the forum attaches great importance to finding appropriate and sustainable solutions to raise awareness of the risks of abuse of religions; Including the Islamic religion, its culture and its sanctities and the promotion of hate speech from it in the media, in coordination with governmental and non -governmental bodies and organizations of common concern at the Arab and European levels.
