The Egyptian media, Yasmine Ezz, confirmed her judicial victory over her Lebanese colleague, Nishan Derhartonian, in the case of insults and slander, which she filed against him, after a dispute that arose in the “Arab Media Forum” in the Emirates last September.
Ezz suspended the support of the Dubai Court of Cassation in the ruling of the first instance court and the Court of Appeal to condemn Nishan, and fined him 10 thousand dirhams.
Yasmine Ezz commented through her official account on “Instagram” after the judgment was issued to Nishan, saying: “Long live justice … all the appreciation, dignity and respect for the elimination of the fair, fair …”
Ezz confirmed in previous statements that attempts for reconciliation took place with Nishan, but she strongly rejected her, stressing her insistence on walking in the way of lawsuits, and that she would demand great financial compensation, not because of her need for money, and the evidence that she will donate him to charitable work.
The crisis began when Ezz was absent from attending a symposium run by Nishan within the activities of the “Arab Media Forum”.
Nishan continued his attack on Ezz through television statements to him, describing what she did as “insignificance”, considering that it is the honor for her to interview her, and attributed the reason for her absence to her fear of the level and nature of his questions to the guests.
The Egyptian anchor responded to Nishan’s speech, during an official statement, in which she said that what he did is contrary to the law and public morals, and to insult her person publicly, stressing that she trusts in the judiciary in the UAE in which this media event is held, and their deterrence for all those who begged him to go into the reputation and defamation of people, pointing to its resort to all the concerned authorities in the Emirate of Dubai.
