
The Syrian presidency announced yesterday (Wednesday) the formation of the National Security Council headed by President Ahmed Al -Shara and its determination and goals.
The council, which was not present before the overthrow of former President Bashar al -Assad, is coordinating and managing the security and political policies in the country, as it works to enhance national security and respond to security and political challenges in the next stage.
The decision was assigned to the President of Sharia, to define the tasks of other council and the mechanism of his work in line with the supreme national interest, and to ensure effective coordination between the various agencies and institutions.
The Council includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defense, the Director of General Intelligence and the Minister of the Interior, in addition to two consulting seats that are appointed by Sharia, and a specialized technical seat appointed by Sharia to follow up on technical and scientific affairs related to the minutes of the session.
The statement indicated that the council will hold its sessions at the invitation of the president and supervise the implementation of decisions related to national security and the challenges facing the state in consultation between members.
On the other hand, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said that a group of the remnants of the former regime tried to attack the gate of one of the military barracks in Lattakia countryside, and after clashes, the barracks were able to thwart the attack and the arrest of 4 of them, according to the Syrian News Agency «SANA».
In another context, the Syrian News Agency (SANA) said that the Israeli occupation planes targeted a residential building in a project destroyed in the capital, Damascus, today (Thursday), while the Israeli occupation army said that it had bombed the headquarters of the jihad movement in Damascus.
Witnesses reported that the Israeli raid targeted a Palestinian figure in a demolished project at the outskirts of the capital, Damascus.
