The weather disturbances, which Morocco has been living in a few days ago, continues to cast a number of vital fields and sectors in the country, as the electronic newspaper Hespress learned that the port authorities of the Tangier Mediterranean Port felt the various partners and actors of the presence of disturbances that will affect the maritime navigation movement between Morocco and Spain today, Thursday.
According to the data obtained by Hespress from informed sources, the port authorities “told those concerned that the weather disturbances will affect the movement between the port and Spanish ports in the opposite bank during the period from 5 am to the six in the evening of Thursday evening.”
The same sources added that the export actors and the owners of international transport trucks feel the necessity of communicating with the relevant interests to see if the programmed trips “will know delays on their specified times or will be canceled permanently.”
Hespress sources stressed that “complete paralysis” remains a strong option in the port today, especially since the weather turmoil in the area made the Mediterranean Sea in a big rampage that is difficult to sail.
The port authorities of the Tangier Mediterranean Port is working to make a comprehensive evaluation of the situation and the air condition of the sea in order to take the “final decision” regarding the final stop of the movement and the suspension of the movement of ships this day between the two banks, or to declare changes at the level of the starting times of the trips that were programmed.
It is noteworthy that the confusion caused by the air transformations at the level of navigation and the transportation of ships between the two banks of the Mediterranean, is the second of its kind within a week, as the movement of travelers between the ports of the green island, the category and Tangier was affected, on Tuesday, due to the unfavorable weather conditions that affect the Strait of Gibraltar.
The aforementioned weather disturbances affected several flights that were programmed in the morning from the Green Island to the Tangier Mediterranean port, while all cruises coming from the port of Tarifa were canceled for the same day.
These turmoil comes in a context in which the region has lived under the influence of strong air depressions since the beginning of this month, with which it carried rains and storms accompanied by strong winds that led to torrents and floods in a number of countries in the region, and contributed to the decline in the severity of the drought, which dominated the majority of them in the past years.
