Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar Al -Iryani pointed out that the Houthi militia has adopted since its coup against the government in 2014, an extremist sectarian discourse similar to the speech of terrorist organizations such as “ISIS” and “Al -Qaeda”.
Al -Iryani said in statements reported by the Yemeni News Agency, “Saba”, that this inflammatory discourse was not limited to media statements and political letters, but rather translated into horrific crimes and massacres against civilians, targeting many Yemeni governorates, including Ibb, Dhamar, Hajjah, Al -Bayda, and Taiz, in an approach similar to what terrorist groups practice to justify the mass killing of civilians.
Al -Iryani called for an escalation of legal efforts to pursue the leaders of the Houthi militia, as “war criminals”, and to impose more penalties on them, and prevent them from continuing their crimes and violations against the Yemeni people, stressing that the international community is required to deal with the Houthis with the same firmness that he dealt with war criminals in other areas, to ensure that they do not escape punishment.
The Yemeni economy is witnessing a sharp decline and losses as a result of the Houthi practices, which caused the bulldozing of the economic, investment and industrial sectors, which led to the crisis of the living conditions of millions of Yemenis.
