
The Saudi Organization for Data and Artificial Intelligence “Sayya” contributed to supporting the digital transformation experienced by the Kingdom in various fields by employing data technologies and artificial intelligence, optimal employment in a number of national projects, whose role is reflected in achieving the best services that the citizen and the resident benefit from, as well as in the electronic portal technology in the Kingdom’s airports.
Travelers experience
The General Directorate of Passports, in cooperation with “Sayya” and the Holding Airport Company, launched 152 electronic portals that facilitated the crossing of travelers in airports: King Khalid International in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International in Jeddah, King Fahd International in Dammam, and Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International in Madinah, without human intervention in order to improve the experience of travelers, and develop civil aviation services in the airports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance the Kingdom’s status, which is a global destination for various nationalities, It has a great impact on the global aviation industry.
Smart solutions
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah included 70 electronic portals, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh 42 electronic portals, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam 20 electronic portals distributed equally between departure and international arrival, and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah 20 electronic portals distributed equally between departure and international arrival, where one gate can handle procedures 2,500 passengers per day, which contributes to facilitating the travel of more than 35 thousand passengers On a daily basis. Work is also underway to expand the use of this technology, to include other airports in the Kingdom, to enhance the end of self -travel procedures without any human intervention through these gates, with the aim of improving travelers ’experience.
The General Directorate of Passports supported the application of smart solutions that contribute to improving the quality of its services provided to citizens, residents and visitors across the electronic gates in cooperation with “Sayya”, to reflect the extent of integration between the civil aviation system and government partners, to achieve a qualitative shift in automating procedures and improving the experience of travelers, in line with international best practices.
