Egypt, through the Football Association, led by its president, Hani Abu Raida (71 years old), a member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation “FIFA”, and the President of the North African Union, requested the honor to host one of the 2034 World Cup group groups, to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Abu Raida surprised, in a speech, during the extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the African Union, today, Wednesday, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the presence of the President of the International Federation, Gianni Infantino (55 years), and the President of the African Union “CAF”, Patrice Motsby (63 years), supported Egypt in hosting a group of the World Cup, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, on the first African participation in the World Cup, represented in Egypt in 1934, in the second edition of Omar World Cup.
In his speech, during the extraordinary general assembly meeting of the African Union, Abu Raida asked Infantino to agree to host Egypt, one of the 2034 World Cup groups, on the occasion of the centenary of African participation in the World Cup, through Egypt, which participated for the first time in the World Cup in 1934, which was held in Italy, within the framework of the plan to increase the celebration between the various continents, especially since the Saudi side will welcome this proposal, after the Kingdom took place in honor Organizing the World Cup on its territory, which is the first version in the second centenary of the tournament. Egypt participated in the World Cup three times before, years: 1934, 1990 and 2018, which is the first Arab and African country to succeed in qualifying to play in the World Cup World Cup.
Abu Raida’s request was met with a great welcome from the masses, through social media, with the possibility of hosting Egypt jointly with Saudi Arabia, the World Cup, as happened in the 2026 edition, which will be held in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico, and the 2030 version expected to be organized in Morocco, Spain and Portugal. Egypt has never organized the World Cup, and had an opportunity to advance a file to host the 2010 World Cup, but it obtained a “zero” from the voices of the Executive Committee of the International Federation, after South Africa was chosen to organize this historic event..
And contributes to the increase in the shares of “FIFA” in the Egyptian demand, giving it the joint organization of many countries, a trend that Infantino is going, in the recent period, which appeared by hosting six countries at once for the 2026 and 2030 championships, while Saudi Arabia has the right to organize the 2034 World Cup, which it officially received, last December.
