The Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on Wednesday that his country “does not have nuclear weapons” and “do not seek” to possess them, after US President Donald Trump sent a message in which the Islamic Republic calls for negotiations.
“With regard to nuclear weapons, it is said that we will not allow Iran to own it,” Khamenei said during a meeting with university students. If we wanted to make nuclear weapons, America would not have prevented us. Our lack of nuclear weapons and our lack of endeavor to nuclear weapons is due to our lack of desire.
