Today (Wednesday), European leaders welcomed the results of Jeddah’s talks between the United States and Ukraine, considering that Kiev is ready to accept the American proposal with a 30 -day trial in the war with Russia, a positive step towards peace. European stocks jumped after this remarkable development.
German counselor Olaf Schultz described the armistice as an important step towards a just peace in Ukraine, and said that the idea of a 30 -day ceasefire is a correct and important step towards a just peace, adding: We stand with Ukraine and the United States, and we welcome the proposal issued by Jeddah negotiations, and considered that it is now in the hands of President Putin.
British Prime Minister Kiir Starmer congratulated US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Voludmir Zellinski on what he described as an “important breakthrough.” He added: «This is an important step for peace in Ukraine. We all now need to double our efforts for a safe and lasting peace as soon as possible. ”
While Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez saw Kiev’s approval of the armistice proposal, positive news, Poland Donald Tusk Prime Minister said he believed that the recent Ukraine talks were an important step towards peace.
European Commission President Ursula von der Line welcomed the results of the talks, and said: “This is a positive development that can be a step towards a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine. The ball is now in the Russia Stadium. ” She stressed that the European Union is ready to play its entire role, in cooperation with the partners in the upcoming peace negotiations.
For his part, Ukrainian Foreign Minister André Siabia in Warsaw (Wednesday) said that Kiev is ready to form a team to work on a road map to reach a ceasefire with Russia. He emphasized that Ukraine is the most important country for war and just peace.
The United States and Ukraine announced in a joint statement at the conclusion of Jeddah’s talks, on Tuesday evening, that Kiev is ready to accept an American proposal for a period of 30 days if Russia agrees.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorski said he could confirm the resumption of arms supplies to Ukraine via Poland, according to the agreement between Kiev and Washington in Jeddah, and he stressed that Ukraine’s connection to the Internet through the service of Starlink owned by American billionaire Elon Musk is still working.
At the conclusion of Tuesday’s talks, Ukraine expressed its willingness to accept the American proposal to impose an immediate and temporary ceasefire for 30 days, which can be extended by a mutual agreement between the parties, and this is subject to the consent and a simultaneous implementation by Russia, and added that the United States will inform Russia that the reciprocity from the Russian side is the key to achieving peace.
According to the statement, the United States will remove the freezing of the exchange of intelligence and the resumption of providing security aid to Kiev.
The Presidents of the two countries, Donald Trump and Volodimir Zellinski, agreed to conclude a comprehensive agreement as soon as possible to develop biological mineral resources in Ukraine with the aim of expanding the Ukrainian economy, and ensuring its prosperity and security in the long term.
