Police arrested for planning Lula’s death worked for the PT in Bahia

Arrested on suspicion of participation in an alleged plan to kill Lula in 2022, the police officer federal police Wladimir Matos Soares already worked for PT governments in Bahia, the state where he was born.

The police officer spent a year in the Ministry of Public Security, before leaving the department. Subsequently, the PF agent continued working in Salvador and was later transferred to Brasilia.

The police had a low profile.

Baiano, Wladimir has been a federal police officer for 22 years. In addition to Bahia, he worked in states such as Amapá and Rio Grande do Sul. The agent was considered by his colleagues to be a good police officer and without “extremist” speeches.

The column found that PF colleagues have said they were taken “by surprise” with the news of Wladimir’s alleged involvement in the plot to kill Lula in 2022.

“If he were a Bolsonarist, he would not admit it because he did not have any type of conversation about it with us. I didn’t see anything on social media,” a police officer told the column, asking for a reservation.

Police officer has been charged with murder.

As reported in Wednesday’s (11/20) column, Wladimir Matos has already been charged with the murder of a military police officer in 2005.

The case occurred during a PF operation in execution of a search, seizure and capture order for military police officer Evaldo Soares Lopes Junior, accused of leading an extermination group in Itaboraí (RJ).

According to information from the trial, to which the column had access, Wladimir and three other federal police officers shot Evaldo at least six times. The prime minister died instantly, at the foot of his residence.

The four PF agents, however, were acquitted in the case after arguing self-defense. They said they were greeted by the prime minister with gunfire and that one of the officers was wounded.
