The Israeli scene witnessed a new development with which political differences escalated, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the decision to dismiss the head of the General Security Service (Shin Bet) Ronin Bar.
This decision sparked widespread reactions inside the Israeli, where politicians considered it an attempt to enhance Netanyahu’s survival in power, especially amid the involvement of those close to him in corruption cases and the increasing criticism of his responsibility for security failures, especially those related to the events of October 7, 2023.
Commenting on the decision, Ronin Bar said, “My dismissal is not because of the events of October 7, and the Prime Minister made it clear that his decision is based on allegations of constant lack of confidence.”
He added that the investigations related to the October events revealed that government policies, especially those that were followed during the year before the incident, played a major role in security failures.

The dismissal witnessed different positions between support and the opposition. The Minister of Finance in Salafel Smotrich supported Netanyahu’s move, saying:
“There are many and convincing reasons for the dismissal of the Shin Bet, and this step should have been taken a long time ago, and after seventeen months of failure, is there still a debate about the necessity of dismissal?”

Arab reactions to social media platforms
This escalating controversy in the Israeli street and communication platforms raised the interest of the virtual world in the Arab world, as activists expressed their opinions towards what they described as “internal collapse” in Israel.
Many commentators believe that these developments represent the beginning of an internal collapse in Israel, expecting a strong “war of leaks” that shake the pillars of the state, in light of what they described as Netanyahu’s conflict with the deep state.

Some activists pointed out that the successive dismissals within Israeli institutions reflect a deep internal crisis and differences that reached the level of rivalry, and they considered that these tensions are evidence of the occupation’s defeat politically, intelligence and militarily.

They pointed out that this series represents a reflection of military and political failure, stressing that the current situation reveals a major disintegration in the Israeli system.
The successive Israeli dismissals, as much as it expresses the internal occupation crisis and the differences that amount to rivalry, are a flagrant face of the military defeat of the enemy state, politically, intelligence and militarily.
