The media committee in Jenin camp confirmed today, Sunday, that on the 55th day of the aggression against the camp, 512 homes and facilities were completely affected by the ongoing Israeli aggression, while the number of displaced people increased to 21 thousand citizens, which constitutes about 90% of the camp residents, who were subjected to forced displacement due to violent military operations launched by the occupation forces.
The committee stated, in a press statement, that the Israeli occupation continues its broad aggression against the city and camp of Jenin for the 55th day in a row, causing the death of 36 citizens, including two by the Palestinian Authority’s bodies, in addition to the injury and arrest of dozens, amid worsening humanitarian conditions. The occupation forces continue to burn and systematic destruction, as yesterday, they burned a number of houses inside the camp, amid their continued spread in the main square of the camp and a number of streets in the city. The occupation forces also closed the entrance to Jenin Governmental Hospital with dirt berms, which increases the suffering of the wounded and the sick.
The committee pointed out that for the first time since 2002, the occupation tanks stormed the city of Jenin and its camp, as it launched widespread sabotage and raids with the participation of bulldozers and military vehicles, and the incursions were also extended to the towns of Julboun, Qabatiya, Ya`bad, and the village of Bir al -Basha, where the occupation forces transformed a number of houses into military barracks, which increases the suffering of the civilian population.
The committee affirmed that the escalation of the Israeli aggression led to severe damage to the infrastructure, and the exacerbation of the living conditions of the residents of Jenin camp, where the people suffer a severe shortage of food and basic needs of children, in conjunction with the continued water and electricity cuts from large parts of the city and the camp. In front of the ongoing crimes, the media committee in Jenin camp called for standing alongside the displaced families and working to break the siege imposed on the city and the camp, and to confront the aggression of the occupation that continues the war of extermination against the Palestinians and their property.
In addition, the Israeli occupation forces stormed, today, Sunday, several houses in the Nour Shams and Tulkarm camps in the northern West Bank, and forced dozens of families to evacuate them, and the activist ended the soldier to the “New Arab”, that the occupation forced a number of residents of Qaqoun and Abu Al -Foul in Tulkarm camp, and Jabal Al -Salehin neighborhood in Nour Shams camp, on the displacement.
