Report: Moroccans are the second largest migrant nationality to Spain in 2024

The regional annual report of the International Immigration Organization on mixed immigration flows to Europe with a fee in 2024 showed that Moroccans represent 13 percent of the total migrants who arrived in Spanish territory last year, with their solutions as the second largest migrant nationalities to the northern neighbor of the Kingdom across the Mediterranean, by 27 percent during the same period covered by the report.
The report of the International Organization for Migration, which was read by the electronic newspaper Hespress, indicated that out of 63,970 immigrants who managed to reach Spain during the period from January 1 to December 2024, Moroccans represent 13 percent. In this aspect, the Senegalese topped the list of nationalities, by 20 percent, followed by the Algerians, who made up 16 percent of the general migrants to the European country in the mentioned period.
The document, which is based on official data issued by the authorities of European countries, and about “Frontex”, indicated that the Moroccans formed 27 percent of the total migrants who entered Spain through the Mediterranean Sea, i.e. 14480, to solve in the second place in the list of the most nationalities to the country through this road during the mentioned period; The Algerians topped 59 percent.
In this regard, the same source data indicated that 4,6843 immigrants arrived in Spain via the Atlantic Road, that is, to the Canary Islands (which represents 73 percent of the general migrants to European countries in 2024), while 14480 arrived through the Mediterranean, and 2647 through the wild borders.

On a separate level, and on the Balkan road, the document revealed that Moroccans are among the main nationalities of migrants and refugees recorded by the Bosnia and Herzegovina authorities in 2024 (46,162 migrants and refugees in total); Where they represented 11 percent, Afghans succeeded in 21 percent, and Syrians were 33 percent.
The same report showed, quoting the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior data, that the Moroccans formed 4 percent of the total migrants who entered Bulgaria last year, while the Syrians issued the list of nationalities in this framework, by 56 percent.
The same source also stated, according to the electronic newspaper Hespress, that the number of migrants arriving and leaving the Group of States (Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, and Kosovo) in 2024 reached 12254 migrants and refugees, Moroccans make up 8 per cent of them, and the same percentage represented by the Egyptians, while the Syrians export the list by 37 per cent.
