The Syrian News Agency “SANA” reported on Thursday that the governor of Latakia visited the Syrian lady Zarqa Sabahia, who ignited social media after the video in which she appeared in the face of the killing of her two sons and grandson in the Sahel region, which witnessed severe violations against civilians during the past days.
According to “SANA”, the governor of Lattakia, Muhammad Othman, offered condolences to the bereaved mother, accompanied by a member of the Supreme Committee for the National Peace and the director of the political bureau in the province.
Othman expressed his deep condolences, and affirmed the government’s commitment to the trial of those responsible for the crimes that occurred, and to provide full support to the families of the victims, while ensuring that such painful incidents are not repeated in the future.
For his part, a member of the Supreme Committee for National Peace, Hassan Soufan, stressed the ongoing efforts to enhance civil peace in the region, stressing that this stage requires everyone to join to work to restore life to normal in the region.
Soufan added that the province continues its efforts to restore stability and build confidence among all groups of society.
The daughter of Mrs. Sebahia recounted the details of what happened to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, saying that exposed -facing and masked elements wearing a military uniform that stormed the family’s home in the village of Kahwar Al -Awamiya in Lattakia countryside, and they detonated the locks of the house with bombs, before they looted its contents and forced the three youths to go out.
She added: “The gunmen asked them, you are Alawiya?
And she continued: “He refused the killers until the mother gave the dignity of burial, so the bodies remained lying behind the house for four days, under the guardianship of Sebahia herself that did not leave the place, despite all the threat and abuse, for fear that the security forces will burn the bodies, and the last hopes will lose their burial.”
She pointed out that some of the perpetrators are still residing in a house in exchange for them, after he was robbed of his companions who fled a similar fate.
The video sparked widespread anger, especially since the gunmen, whose identity has not yet been proven, went to the mother who belongs to the Sahel, which is of the Alawite -majority, in sectarian terms.
The violence that occurred in the Syrian coast area caused a local and international shock, as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed hundreds of people in operations described as the most violent years ago.
